Red Left, Green Right

Great news for all mummies and kiddies: We have received our order of Kickers shoes. For those who don’t know Kickers (that’s probably not the majority), they are originally famous for the great kids shoes they have produced in France for several decades now.

One example is this little boot for kids (boys or girls) featuring a nice fur inside for outstanding warmth and comfort.

But Kickers has managed to transform a great kids brand into a love brand for adults. See for example this cow-boy style ankle-boot designed both to please the eye and the foot!

The special touch: a coloured dot on the soles to find the right and the left shoes. Even for adult models ;-)

Goodyear Welted or Blake Stiched?

Need nice men shoes right before X-mas? Sure we have that in stock. But before rushing to our shop, think of the shoe construction – you have options here and you face an important choice.

Beyond design, leather quality and attention to details, you can select your shoes based on the sole stitching, which makes a difference on comfort and resistance.

The most common construction methods are Goodyear and Blake. The first one uses a frame between the upper-shoe and the sole, so that the outer-sole does not have to be stitched to the leather of the upper-shoe and lining. This method make it much easier to replace the sole in the future, and is also more resistant.

The Blake method consists in stitching the outer-sole directly on the leather of the upper-shoe and lining. It allows for lighter designs (favored by Italian designers) and faster fit to your feet, with a more immediate feeling of comfort. Noo need to ask the Butler to wear them for a couple of weeks before you do…

You will find both otpions in the KOALA.CH selection. Hereunder, the Loake example, Goodyear-Welted.

And here, the Florsheim with a Blake-Stitching

As a conclusion, no construction method is better than the other, but it should still be a point to consider before making that very important investment purchase!
